In-Home Support for Veterans and Their Families

Are you a veteran—or do you know a veteran—who may need additional assistance at home? One On One Senior Care provides non-medical in-home care and support for veterans who may qualify for VA-authorized services.

Our team is available 24/7 to answer questions and help you understand the process. We can work with the VA to help determine whether a veteran may qualify for in-home care services and assist with the steps needed to get care started.

Call One On One Senior Care at 251-209-0151. The process begins with one simple phone call.

VA-Authorized Homemaker & Home Health Aide Services

Veterans who qualify may receive VA-authorized Homemaker/Home Health Aide services with little or no out-of-pocket cost, depending on their eligibility and authorization. These services can help veterans remain comfortable and supported in their homes while assisting with everyday activities.

Care hours are determined and authorized by the VA based on the veteran’s eligibility and individual care needs.

Our caregivers may assist with:

  • Personal Care & Daily Activities

Support with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and other activities of daily living can help veterans maintain comfort and independence at home.

  • Meal Preparation & Light Housekeeping

Caregivers can assist with preparing meals and maintaining a safe, comfortable home environment through light housekeeping and related household tasks.

  • Fall-Prevention & Safety Support

We provide supervision and assistance intended to help reduce everyday safety risks, including support with mobility and safe movement around the home.

  • Respite Care

Family caregivers may need time to rest, work, attend appointments, or manage other responsibilities. Respite support can provide temporary assistance while helping the veteran continue receiving care at home.

  • Medication Reminders

Caregivers can provide reminders to help veterans follow their established medication schedules. One On One Senior Care provides non-medical care and does not administer medications or perform skilled nursing services.

  • Transportation & Appointment Escorts

When arranged and appropriate, caregivers can provide assistance with errands, transportation, and escorts to appointments.

  • Hospital-to-Home Support

Returning home after a hospital stay can be challenging. Our team can help veterans and families prepare for the transition and provide non-medical assistance with daily activities and safety at home.

We Help Coordinate the Care Process

Navigating VA services can feel overwhelming for veterans and their families. One On One Senior Care can help make the process easier by assisting with coordination and communication throughout the referral and authorization process.

Our team can help with:

  • Answering questions about available in-home care services
  • Coordinating with the VA regarding potential eligibility and authorization
  • Completing and delivering applicable VA paperwork
  • Following up on referrals
  • Coordinating with veterans and their families
  • Preparing for services to begin once authorization is received
  • Requesting a new provider or additional care hours when appropriate
  • Scheduling a same-day assessment once VA authorization is received

Support for Veterans’ Surviving Spouses

Eligible surviving spouses may also have access to benefits that can help with care-related expenses. One On One Senior Care can help families understand the care-coordination process and provide support when navigating programs such as VA Aid and Attendance benefits, when applicable.

Eligibility and benefits are determined by the applicable VA program. Our team can help you understand the next steps and connect you with the appropriate resources.

When Can Care Begin?

Once the appropriate VA authorization has been received, One On One Senior Care can arrange a same-day assessment when available and appropriate.

The amount and type of care provided depend on the veteran’s authorization, eligibility, care needs, and the schedule approved by the VA.

Whether a veteran needs occasional assistance, respite support, or more consistent in-home care, our team can help families understand what options may be available.
