Insurance & Payment Options Understanding Your Options for In-Home Care

Paying for in-home care can feel complicated, especially when different programs and insurance policies have different requirements. One On One Senior Care works with families to help identify potential payment options and coordinate the appropriate authorization before services begin.

Our team can help you understand your available options, verify benefits when possible, and explain what steps may be needed to arrange non-medical home care.

Payment & Coverage Options

  • VA-Authorized Homemaker/Home Health Aide Care

Veterans who meet applicable VA eligibility requirements may qualify for VA-authorized Homemaker/Home Health Aide services. The VA determines eligibility, authorized services, and approved care hours based on the veteran’s circumstances and care needs.

Our team can assist with the referral and authorization process and help coordinate services once authorization is received.

  • Long-Term Care Insurance

Long-term care insurance may help cover eligible non-medical home care services depending on the individual policy. Coverage requirements, benefit amounts, waiting periods, and authorization procedures vary.

Our team can help families understand what information may be needed when beginning the claims or verification process.

  • Care Scout & Participating Long-Term Care Networks

One On One Senior Care works with Care Scout and participating long-term care networks when applicable. Network participation and individual coverage requirements may vary, so we recommend contacting our team to confirm whether your plan or referral can be accepted.

  • Workers’ Compensation

Workers’ compensation may cover certain in-home assistance following an authorized work-related injury or condition. Services must be approved through the applicable workers’ compensation program or carrier.

  • Auto & No-Fault Injury-Related Care

In-home care related to an automobile or no-fault injury may be available when authorized by the applicable insurer or program. Coverage and approval requirements vary by claim.

  • Private Pay / Self-Pay

Families may also choose to pay privately for non-medical home care. Private-pay arrangements can provide flexibility when services are not covered by insurance or another funding program.

Our team can discuss available care schedules and help families determine which services may fit their needs and budget.

  • Vet Assist & Aid and Attendance Coordination

Veterans and eligible surviving spouses may have access to programs or benefits that can help with care-related expenses. When applicable, our team can help families navigate the coordination process for Vet Assist or VA Aid and Attendance benefits.

Eligibility and benefit decisions are determined by the applicable program.

Referral & Care Coordination Partners

Not every organization we work with is an insurance company or payment source. Some organizations help connect individuals and families with appropriate care.

One On One Senior Care receives and coordinates appropriate referrals through Watershed Health and other community referral sources. We work with referral and care coordination partners to help families connect with non-medical in-home support when appropriate.

We Can Help You Understand Your Coverage

Determining how home care will be paid for is an important part of starting services. Our team can help identify the appropriate payment source, communicate with referral partners, and assist with the information needed to move the process forward.

Coverage, authorization, hours, and eligibility vary by program and individual policy. Our team can help verify benefits before services begin.
